Kepak Foodservice continuously strive to protect the integrity of both our Customer and our Supply Chain with a stringent due diligence food quality testing program. As part of our continual product safety evaluation process, we have identified Sulphites in our 958980 Big Al’s Kwicky Kebab with BBE 10/2024 and 11/2024.
This means the product with Best Before End Date 10/2024 and 11/2024 is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Sulphites. We want to reassure you that all other Best Before End Dates do not pose a risk to consumers with a sulphite allergy. We are currently working closely with our supplier to put in place a corrective action plan to ensure this does not happen again.
All of the affected stock has been labelled to reflect the correct allergen declaration.
Please ensure that the change in allergen declaration, for stock with BBE 10/2024 and 11/2024 is communicated to your relevant customers:
- Serve Over/ Hot food service counter: All allergen information must be updated at point of sale to include Sulphites when selling stock with BBE 10/2024 and 11/2024
- Cash and Carry: The revised labelling will reflect the correct allergen declaration on the product.
We would like to reassure you that the presence of sulphites is only a food safety concern for consumers with an allergy to sulphites and that once the point-of-sale allergen information has been updated to reflect the presence of sulphites this product can be sold as usual.
